Provalor BV was founded in 1998. The founders are four private persons, all with an agri-industrial background. Provalor initially focused on knowledge (theory and practice) to manufacture high-quality vegetable juice from large-scale vegetable residues in canning companies and vegetable processors.
Provalor has developed many initiatives to build a high-quality knowledge and patent portfolio. Provalor is the initiator or partner in a number of strategically relevant research and development projects.
For Provalor a development is not complete until the product or process is on the market on a commercial basis. Part of a sustainable partnership is, therefore, the commercialisation of the resulting products, alone or with partners.
In 2005, commercial production and sale of juices started from vegetable residues, from 2007 in a joint venture with a large vegetable processing industry. At the beginning of 2014, this activity was sold as a result of the strategic decision to focus on high-value ingredients.
